A. Robert MacLeod, Ph.D.

Senior Director, Discovery Biology

Dr. MacLeod is the Senior Director of Discovery Biology at Takeda San Diego. Dr. MacLeod's principal responsibilities include managing the research activities of the structural biology, enzyme pharmacology, cell pharmacology and in vivo pharmacology groups.

Prior to joining Takeda San Diego, Dr. MacLeod served as Executive Director of Pharmacology and Cell Biology at MethylGene Inc., where he was a founding scientist and a key contributor to the growth of its multidisciplinary drug discovery team. During his tenure at MethylGene, Dr. MacLeod was involved in therapeutic programs in oncology, inflammation and antiinfective discovery. These efforts led to the identification and clinical development of several investigational drugs including, MG98, a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor, MGCD0103, a histone deacetylse inhibitor currently in Phase II studies for oncology and MG-265 a c-Met multitargeted kinase inhibitor for oncology.
